Jen oversees ship logistics, crew training and hiring as well as sails as mate and captain. She has been Program Director for Outward Bound managing their Semester program in the Caribbean and Tall Ship program from Maine, Bermuda, and Newfoundland as well as Safety Director for The School for Field Studies, a semester abroad program located in six different countries.
LCDR Aurora Fleming
US Coast Guard Search and Rescue
Aurora Fleming assumed the duties of the First District Command Center Supervisor in Boston, MA. The First District command center oversees all Coast Guard missions across eight states in the Northeast and 2,000 miles of coastline from the U.S. Canadian border to northern New Jersey.
She is a graduate from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 1998, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree and a commission as an Ensign in the Coast Guard. Previous assignments include Deck Watch Officer onboard the 270’ Coast Guard Cutter TAHOMA out of New Bedford, MA, the 110’ Patrol Boat MANITOU out of Miami, FL, and Operations Officer onboard the Coast Guard Barque EAGLE, out of New London, CT.
Aurora grew up sailing off the southern coast of Cape Cod in the summers, and the north coast of Honduras during the rest of the year.
