Tall Ships America, the new face of ASTA, is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization focused on youth education, leadership development and the preservation of North America’s rich maritime heritage. Founded in 1973 as the American Sail Training Association in Newport, RI, Tall Ships America’s member fleet has over 200 tall ships and sail training vessels from 26 states and 30 countries that deliver life changing experiences for “youth” of all ages.

The mission of  Tall Ships America is to encourage character building through sail training, promote sail training to the North American public and support education under sail.
