Sharks to School ASTA Educators

In association with the Charleston IMAX theater co-located with the South Carolina Aquarium, the ASTA staff invites ASTA Educators to join them for the Wednesday, 8 November, 6:00 PM screening of Sharks3D.  This optional event will follow the 4th Biennial ASTA Education Under Sail Forum.  Producer Jean-Michel Cousteau said of this movie, “The minute I saw this amazing footage, I knew I had to be involved with this documentary.  To inspire and educate people to act responsibly in order to ensure the preservation of the world’s oceans is a mission the film and I have long shared.”  What better conclusion to a day discussing ocean literacy than a three-dimensional immersion into the watery world of these magnificent beasts.  Movie information is available on the Sharks3D web site.  In support of ASTA’s ocean literacy goals, IMAX Charleston will provide ASTA Educators with Sharks3D Educator’s Guides, Companion Guides, and other teaching resources.  Be sure to bring your chum, er, chums.  –Posted by Eric J.
