Harnessing the Power of Visual Media
Ben Carey, Morse Alpha Studios
Teresa Carey, Morse Alpha Studios
Now, more than ever, it is critical for organizations to have a video and multimedia strategy to communicate their message, become an authority in their field, and attract donors or clients. Organizations that do not, will quickly fall behind. This seminar is designed to explore the benefits of a multimedia strategy, how to launch one, important considerations, and answer the question, “Is it really worth it?”
Ben Carey began his sailing career as a student with Sea Education Association. From that, he went on to sail many schooners and tall ships from deckhand to mate and captain. When he purchased and moved aboard his own vessel, he focused on mastering web design – a job he could do while traveling on a sailboat. Once he got a taste of digital creativity, he didn’t go back. Now he has added filmmaking, writing, social media, and motion graphics to his list of skills. He is the co-founder of Morse Alpha Studios, a production company which specializes in creating films and web media (websites, web films, social media, articles). He recently finished a film called One Simple Question, which was nominated as a finalist for the BLUE Ocean Film Festival’s Emerging Filmmaker category. It will be released March 2015. His next big project is a documentary mini-series titled Ocean Courier.
