Winter Wonderland – The Awards Part Two

This year, we had over 30 grant recipients attend the annual conference. Contributors to the crew grant fund were US Maritime Resource Center, Tall Ships America, and the Elizabeth Strojny Memorial Fund. At the beginning of this year’s award ceremony, Captain Jonathan Kabak, David Goldman and Alysia Johnson spoke about the loss of our friend Liz Strojny. They honored her memory by expressing what her friendship meant to them, how much her maritime skill inspired them and how much they, and the entire tall ship world, will miss her.

After the TALL SHIPS CHALLENGE(r) Pacific Coast 2014 awards, Lori presented the 2013 Sail Training Awards (all the descriptions of these awards can be found on our website). All the winners were nominated by their peers so this is an especially high honor in an industry full of inspiring and generally awesome people. It’s kind of a big deal and this year we recognized some  amazing people and programs –
